In the mid-1990s, over a million people died on the other side of the world, and hardly anybody noticed. That place was, and continues to be, a land with virtually no freedoms - of speech, assembly, religion, movement and more.

This is North Korea, and very little has changed since then.

Come learn about the human rights crisis in North Korea and what we, as students, can do to make a difference.

When: Thursday, Oct. 29, 7p.m.

Where: Textor 101

Cost: FREE

On October 29, IC Human Rights will be hosting a documentary and speakers from Liberty in North Korea, or LiNK.

LiNK is a non-profit organization that raises awareness of the human rights and humanitarian crisis in North Korea through the use of media and grassroots support. The group also provides scholarships, loans, mentorships and job placements for North Korean refugees around the world.

IC Human Rights is honored to be hosting LiNK during their quest to educate students and to alleviate the human rights crisis in North Korea. We will be showing the organization's documentary "Seoul Train," and everyone will have an amazing opportunity to talk with LiNK members about human rights in North Korea, and what we, as students, can do to make a difference.

WE WILL BE HAVING OUR RAFFLE DRAWING AT THIS EVENT! Proceeds will benefit LiNK!

Good luck with the event. Human rights in North Korea does not get the attention that it deserves.
