First week of H1N1 vaccination.

The Ithaca College Health Center is completing its first full week of H1N1 flu vaccination for students. While the numbers attending our vaccine clinics have been substantial and gratifying, we are concerned that many individuals with higher risk conditions remain unvaccinated, including those with asthma or other chronic respiratory disease, immune deficiency, chronic inflammatory disorders like Crohn’s disease, and individuals on chronic corticosteroid treatment.

The health center has vaccine available at this time for individuals in these priority groups as well as for all registered IC students. Call 274-3177 to schedule vaccination by appointment or to find out about our free vaccine clinics.

Two reminders: The CDC recommends H1N1 vaccination even for individuals who have had a recent flu-like illness (unless it was proven by testing to have been H1N1); and pandemic influenza often recurs in waves, so now is an excellent time to protect yourself.
