Stephen D. Younger has been appointed Scholar in Residence in the Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College. Stephen D. Younger has been appointed Scholar in Residence in the Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College. Stephen has taught in the Department of Economics since 2008. He is also Associate Director of the Cornell University Food and Nutrition Policy Program. Dr. Younger holds a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Miami University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University. His research focuses on public policy and poverty in developing countries, especially Africa and the Andean region. In addition to theoretical work, such as how to measure and compare poverty levels in multiple dimensions of well-being, Dr. Younger does a significant amount of applied public policy work. He has advised governments and international institutions on how to best target social support to the poor and helped to analyze the impact of a variety of public policies on the poor. |
