Changes in Web Marketing Staff

Contributed by Joanne Hindman on 11/13/09

The web marketing area of the Office of Marketing Communications recently made changes in responsibilities for several staff members. We've been working toward these changes for a while, but happily they're now recognized and recorded by the College.

Jake Daniel has been promoted to web marketing and social media manager, and his responsibilities include developing and managing a social media marketing strategy for the College, working with two student workers to write and manage Rattle, the College's official accounts on social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and consulting with College offices on best practices and consistency of the IC brand in social media. He will also take on more responsibility in helping to oversee the College's web marketing work and strategies.

As the web marketing research specialist, Chris Gonzales focuses on developing and implementing a strategic web metrics plan for the College. He identifies trends and opportunities for measuring our web initiatives and then analyzes and reports the results. He continues in his shared (with Chris Pollock) role as Intercom manager and with other web marketing efforts.

Chris Pollock took on a good deal of responsibility for Intercom this year, but as web marketing content editor he will also focus primarily on web messaging, info architecture, writing, editing, and management of schools and other strategic sites for the College. He works closely with marketing managers and clients to develop marketing messages, and he also acts as a second manager of the College's social media accounts.

It's been a long journey to get here, and I'd be remiss for not thanking Tom Torello for his unflagging help and guidance, Shelley Semmler for her early support for us, and Eric Maguire for his faith in our efforts. And, of course, I very much appreciate the work and patience of the best team I could ask for!

Please congratulate the guys when next you see them!
