Violin Faculty Soloing On Wednesday Chamber Orchestra ConcertContributed by Erik Kibelsbeck on 11/16/09
Waterbury serves as associate professor of violin at the Ithaca College School of Music where she performs regularly with the Sheherazade Trio and the Ariadne String Quartet. From 1995-99 Waterbury was associate professor of violin at the University of Memphis where she taught violin and performed with the Ceruti String Quartet. Waterbury was a founding member of the Cavani String Quartet for 11 years. As a member of Cavani, she performed and taught regularly for concert series and festivals throughout the U.S. and abroad. The Cavani Quartet garnered many awards including first prize in the 1989 Walter W. Naumberg Chamber Music, and the Cleveland Quartet and Carmel Chamber Music competitions. A member of the violin faculty of the ENCORE School for Strings in the summers from 2005-07, DiEugenio has taught undergraduate students at Yale, and is now assistant professor of violin and chamber music at the Ithaca College School of Music. Recent projects have inlcuded concerts at Town Hall in Seattle and Merkin Hall in New York, as well as concerts at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. As a guest artist, Mr. DiEugenio has visited the University of Arkansas, giving both a recital and masterclass, and has performed as soloist with the Cleveland Bach Conosort, National Repertory Orchestra, Cleveland Pops, CIM Orchestra, and Interlochen's World Youth Symphony Orchestra. A prizewinner at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, DiEugenio was a founding member of the Biava Quartet, and has also been the first violinist of the iO Quartet in New York and a member of the Lorien Trio in New Haven.
