A genetic look at discovering dog domestication, Tuesday Dec 1, 7:30 pm, CNS 208

Nearly all high-throughput genetic research on dogs has been carried out on breed dogs, but village dogs hold unique evolutionary clues to dog origins.  My ongoing research involves using dense SNP genotyping arrays in populations of indigenous, outbred dogs to understand dog evolutionary history.  I am also utilizing additional genetic and behavioral approaches to give new insights into the domestication process in this species.

This presentation is the December meeting of the Finger Lakes Chapter of the New York State Archaeological Association. The meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 in CNS 208.
