Ithaca College

The Ithaca College Jazz Ensemble under Mike Titlebaum’s direction will give a free concert on Wednesday, December 2 at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.  Guest trumpeter John Bailey will be the featured soloist.  Music of John Bailey, Mike Titlebaum, Clifford Brown, Duke Ellington, and others will be performed.

Bailey has toured with Ray Charles and Ray Barretto’s “New World Spirit.”  This latter collaboration let to several international tours, recordings, and performances on virtually every jazz stage in Europe and the U. S.  He has performed with the Buddy Rich Band, the Woody Herman Orchestra, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Arturo O’Farrills Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra and Frank Sinatra, Jr.
