ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN BOATING and JET SKIING...Contributed by Janet Wigglesworth on 12/04/09
This course introduces students to basic boating skills and techniques. Legal requirements and regulations, dealing with emergencies, basic piloting, navigation rules and dealing with emergencies are just a few of the material covered. The course is taught by trained U.S. Coast Guard Aux instructors and it is required of all those who wish to operate a personal watercraft (jet ski). Students who successfully complete the course and exam are awarded the coveted U.S.Coast Guard Aux. certificate and wallet card. Many insurance companies will offer discounts on boat insurance to individuals who successfully complete this course. This course is being offered in the Spring Semester 2010 on Tuesdays from 3:00-3:50 pm.
