Laurie Ward Named Interim Director of Marketing CommunicationsContributed by Jaimie Voorhees on 12/10/09 Submitted on behalf of vice president Eric Maguire. I am pleased to announce the appointment of Laurie Ward as interim director of Marketing Communications, effective December 1. While in this role, Laurie will provide oversight to all operations within MarCom, including web marketing, recruitment marketing, media relations, and sports information. Laurie Ward began at Ithaca College in June 2004 as a marketing communications manager, coordinating marketing efforts for the Park School, H&S, Student Affairs and Campus Life, and Finance and Administration. Promoted to manager of marketing services in February 2007, Laurie continued to expand the role of marketing communications on campus and worked on special projects, including committee membership for the Rod Serling Academic Conference and the National Conferences for Undergraduate Research. Her previous work experience includes serving as public relations director at the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum in Baltimore, Maryland, and manager and acting director of communications at the Rochester Museum & Science Center in Rochester, New York. A search for the director of marketing communications will be initiated after the new year with the expectation of welcoming a permanent replacement to campus by summer 2010.
