Important Changes have taken effect with your Parking/Bus Pass for 2010.

All employees must to register their vehicles on line in order to obtain this year’s parking permit. All previous permits will expire January 15, 2010. To register, go to www.ithaca.edu/sacl/safety/parking and follow the directions. All permits will be mailed to the employee’s campus address.

Ithaca College currently provides a free bus pass valid anywhere within Tompkins County for all employees.  Beginning January 17, TCAT buses will no longer accept the combination parking permit/ bus pass. In order to continue to take advantage of your free bus pass, you will need to use your Ithaca College ID card.

As of January 15, 2010, Parking Services will no longer issue handicap permits. Employees who require a permit for mobility impaired needs should contact their local town/village/city office of their home residence jurisdiction for issuance of a state permit. Information regarding mobility impaired permits can be found at www.nysdmv.com – form MV-664.1

Parking Services would also like to remind college community members that all spaces in P-lot nearest the Peggy Ryan Williams Center are reserved exclusively for Admissions’ visitors. All others will be subject to citation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Parking Services at 607-274-3756, Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm, or by email at parking@ithaca.edu

FYI: Once you're on the Parking Services web page, you need to click on "Purchase Parking Permit" on the bottom right side of the screen (even though you're not actually purchasing anything).

This process is not very intuitive; you might want to make some comments on the main page about which link gives access to the form, or note, specifically, the need to "purchase" the permit even though a person's permit might be no cost.

You indicate in your notice to go the Parking Web Page and "follow directions." There are no directions on the page and you must somehow figure out to go to the "purchase parking permits" line- which is almost unreadable.

Your system is not very user friendly. It took me forever to figure out that I'm supposed to "Purchase Permits" when I'm actually not. You need to make the directions clearer. Also, employees without email accounts can't register their vehicles online? What provisions have been made for them? Not all employees have an email account.
