The Society for the History of Psychology has named Barney Beins the inaugural Teaching of Psychology Editor for its journal,Teaching of Psychology.

The Society for the History of Psychology (a division of the American Psychological Association) is an international organization of scholars, teachers, and members whose interests and scholarship are concerned with understanding the historical events and important people who have shaped the development of psychological thought and practice.

The purpose of this section of the journal is to highlight how the history of psychology can provide compelling examples of research and theory that are pedagogically useful in teaching current psychological concepts and constructs. This section on Teaching the History of Psychology provides instructors with historical ideas for varied courses in the psychology curriculum.
