Ithaca College president Tom Rochon and associate professor of music Susan Waterbury will team up to perform the “Bitter Sour Salt Suite” as part of the Light in Winter festival. Composer Bruce Adolphe wrote eight musical pieces on the food and drink that inspires him—chocolate cake, tomatoes, chili peppers and champagne, among others—then asked his friend Louis Glukow to pen poetic reflections on each. Rochon will read the humorous vignettes, with violinist Waterbury then playing the associated pieces. The performance will take place on the festival’s opening day, Thursday, January 21, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wildfire Grill and Lounge, 106 S. Cayuga St. Tickets are $10.
