Long Island University Brooklyn has recently launched an MFA in Writing and Producing for Television that is being led and directed by writer, producer, and director, Norman Steinberg.

Steinberg, along with Elizabeth Storinge '93, Dean of Admissions at LIU, will be on campus Tuesday, February 2 to talk about this new program. Steinberg wrote blockbuster films including "Blazing Saddles," "My Favorite Year," "Johnny Dangerously," "Mr. Mom," and "Wise Guys" as well as hit TV series including "Cosby," "The Flip Wilson Show," and "Raising Dad."

TV Writer’s StudioSM: The classroom for the program is Steiner Studios, the largest and most sophisticated studio complex outside of Hollywood. The 305,000-square-foot facility has been the production site for television series including “Damages” and “Flight of the Conchords,” and major motion pictures like “Revolutionary Road,” “Wanted,” and “Sex and the City.” Immersing students in this type of professional environment will provide them with a taste of what it takes to write and produce for television on a day-to-day basis.

To learn more about this MFA program and to chat with a 40 year veteran of the writing/producing/directing field, come to the info session at 7:00 p.m. in Park 285 on February 2. Students, faculty, and staff welcome!
