Influenza Vaccination

Contributed by David Newman on 01/29/10

There is probably more influenza to come

Seasonal influenza activity usually increases dramatically in the northeast during January and February, so it is likely we will see seasonal flu, a reemergence of H1N1, or both in the weeks to come. Multiple waves of illness have occurred in all three of the previous 20th century pandemics.

The CDC is recommending immunization against this year's seasonal strains and against H1N1 for everyone 6 months of age and older at this point. The IC health center still has a limited number of doses of both vaccines. If you have not yet been immunized, please consider doing so. We will administer our remaining doses to all eligible students, faculty, and staff on a first come first served basis. Call 274-3177 to schedule.
