The Catholic Community is sponsoring four opportunities this semester to learn and grow in the knowledge and love of God.  Join us to study scripture, to learn about what we believe, and to meet Christ in prayer.

“Meeting Christ in Prayer”, an eight week program in methods of prayer, including lectio divina, meditation, imaginative prayer and contemplation, will be held on Monday or Tuesday evenings starting February 15/16.  Through these eight group sessions and the private prayer opportunities during the intervening days, group members will get to know Jesus Christ in a personal way.  This program is an introduction to Ignatian Spirituality, using scripture, journaling, daily examin, vocal prayer, meditation and contemplation.

Two discussion groups in the Catholic Community will be held on Monday and Tuesday evenings.  “Scripture Study” will consider specific books, stories or passages in the Bible and how they apply to our everyday lives.  “What Do We Believe?” will be a dialogue and discussion about the beliefs and practices of the Catholic religion.

Please contact Fr. Carsten Martensen, S.J. (cmartensen@ithaca.edu) or Lee Imbriano (limbriano@ithaca.edu) for more information or if you would like to participate in any of these programs.
