A Rose By Any Other Name

Contributed by Heather Mueller on 03/29/10

Wednesday March 31, from 7-9PM in Textor 103 there will be a special performer coming to Ithaca College. Her name is Nancy Hulse and she will be using a mixture of performance art, music, poetry, audience participation and dance in her performance "A Rose by Any Other Name" to portray how rape affects women's lives.

This unique performance goes beyond the impact of the stories of victims and survivors and explores how our current and past cultural attitudes about women continue to contribute to rape and violence against women in our society. Nancy Hulse draws upon the her own unique story as a survivor, as well as her many years of experience working with women and victims of violence.

The dynamic nature of the 1-hour presentation always promotes a lively discussion of the issues that often last long after the show has ended. Nancy has performed at hundreds colleges across the nation since 1994.

"This crime has been committed, not once but a hundred times told. It began as I was a young girl, As you can see I have grown quite old."
