Imagine starting your summer like this: leave from JFK airport in New York City and fly directly into Venice, where you will begin your stay in Italy with three days in this unique and beautiful city. From there, you will go to Siena, the home base of the program where you'll spend most of the following three weeks. In Siena, time will be divided between conversational Italian class and field trips to museums, churches, and other places of historical and cultural importance. During this time, day trips to Florence, San Gimignano and Montepulciano will introduce you to several other important Tuscan cities. The program will finish up with three days exploring the historic and vibrant city of Rome. This program is open to any student who, by May 2010, will have completed at least one semester of Italian or has equivalent knowledge of the language. Applications are due to the Office of International Programs by February 22, 2010, and can be downloaded from www.ithaca.edu/oip/short_term_application.pdf For more information, please contact Rachel Cullenen at rcullenen@ithaca.edu or 274-3306. |
