Department of Writing Welcomes Three Distinguished Visiting WritersContributed by Jack Wang on 02/14/10
Jennifer Egan is the author of four books of fiction, including The Keep, a New York Times Notable Book of 2006, and Look at Me, a finalist for the National Book Award in 2001. She has published short fiction in The New Yorker, Harper's, Zoetrope, and Ploughshares, among other places. Her reading will take place at 7:30pm on Tuesday, March 2nd in Klingenstein Lounge, Egbert Hall. C. K. Williams is the author of ten books of poetry, the most recent of which is Collected Poems (2006). The Singing won the National Book Award in 2003, and his previous book, Repair, was awarded the 2000 Pulitzer Prize and the Los Angeles Times Book Award. His collection Flesh and Blood received the National Book Critics Circle Award. He will read from his work at 7:30pm on Wednesday, March 31st in Clark Lounge, Egbert Hall. Eliot Weinberger is an essayist, editor, and translator. His many works include the serial essay An Elemental Thing, selected by The Village Voice as one of the 20 best books of 2007, and What Happened Here: Bush Chronicles, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award for criticism in 2005. His reading will take place at 7:30pm on Tuesday, April 13th in Klingenstein Lounge, Egbert Hall. In addition to giving a reading, all three Distinguished Visiting Writers will contribute to teaching a 1-credit master class to Ithaca College students.
