James Pfrehm (Modern Languages and Literatures) presents his work this Thursday (03/11) at 12:10-1:00 in Cayuga Lake Room (Campus Center). Everyone is welcome to attend.

SUMMARY: For the first time in my teaching career, I required students in a 300-level course to develop enhanced podcasts as their final project. I will share the process, the positive outcomes, and obstacles associated with the assignment.  In particular, I wish to argue that now more than ever, when we require students to integrate technology into their class-work, we as instructors must emphasize traditional scholarly methods of research, organization, presentation, argumentation, and media-friendliness.

IC COLLOQUIM SERIES: This series is part of the Ithaca Faculty Commons, the emerging model that links all of the faculty development activities of the college through coordination, resource-sharing, and networking. The Faculty Commons will have an online environment as well as a strong face to face center. The Faculty Colloquia will be audio recorded for the college’s iTunesU, and follow up discussion groups will continue in myHome.
