Because of the road conditions around the area and on campus this morning, Ithaca College will have a delayed opening on Friday, February 26. The opening time for offices will be 9:30 a.m. and the start of classes will be 10:00 a.m. Essential personnel are requested to report to work at their normal times, if possible. For any further updates on the operating status of Ithaca College, call the Emergency Closing Hotline at 274-1495. Information about emergency closing policies and procedures can be found in the Ithaca College Policy Manual: Ithaca College Opening Late on Friday Comment from

I got to campus today from my apartment in the Fall Creek area of Ithaca. I shoveled my car out of my driveway and slipped and slid up to campus in time for my 10 am class. However, when I got there, I got stuck in one of the MANY parking lots that had yet to be plowed. If I am expected to attend class, and thus expected to drive in risky conditions up to campus, I expect to be physically able to attend class once I get there.
Think about your students, IC, before you're stubborn about your snow-day policy. Ithaca College Opening Late on Friday Comment from

For everyone complaining here of slippery walking conditions - here is very helpful (and not very expensive) solution:

Furthermore, all classes should be canceled. The roads are too dangerous and the city has even issued warnings for no "unnecessary travel."
Safety should not be compromised because of the college's pride in its "never closing" record.
