The VJE will sing music of Ellington, Van Heusen, and others. The Jazz Ensemble's performance includes music by Piazzolla, Wayne Shorter, and Fred Sturm, with guest guitar soloist Ulf Bandgren. The two groups will combine for "Come Fly with Me," "In a Mellow Tone," and "Agua de Beber." The Jazz Ensemble under Mike Titlebaum's direction and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble (VJE) led by Lauri Robinson-Keegan will team up for a free concert on Monday, March 8 at 8:15 in Ford Hall. Fred Sturm, longtime jazz and contemporary media faculty member at the Eastman School of Music, will be the guest director/composer/arranger.
