 If you are seeking to have a capital improvement project performed, the first step is a Project Approval Request or PAR.

 The Office of Facilities Planning, Design and Construction oversees the PAR process. In the past this has been a paper process. Beginning now, the PARs have become electronic. All requests for facilities repairs and upgrades should be submitted through iServiceDesk (http://physplant-tma.ithaca.edu/home.html). 

 If you wish to submit a capital project for consideration click on the “submit a request” link under the Project Approval Request heading.  Capital projects are defined as any alterations to or expansion of facilities, new construction, or office furniture and furnishings.  Project Approval Requests can be submitted as projects and needs are identified throughout the year. 

 Provide as much information as you can about the project but don’t worry if you don’t have all the details or know how much it will cost. We will contact you to flesh out the request and can do a project estimate. 

 Once we have the form completed we will e-mail your Department Head or Dean to get their concurrence with your request. If they approve we will then send an e-mail to the appropriate Vice President or the Provost for a final approval. It would be helpful if you discussed your plans to submit a project proposal with them in advance so it won’t be a surprise when we contact them.

 If your project is approved, and if you have funding available for your project, we’ll work with you to establish a schedule and get to work. If you do not have funding identified the PAR will be considered by the Facilities Planning Committee for inclusion in a future budget.

 If you need routine care or repair of existing facilities go to iServiceDesk and click on the “submit a work request” link listed under Work Request on the top right hand side of the screen. If you have an Information Technology need go to http://ithaca.edu/its/ and click on “Services” and then on “Project Management”. Follow the steps outlined there. These processes have not changed.
