Can your baby drive a robot?

Contributed by Carole W. Dennis on 03/04/10

Here's a chance to find out! We are looking for healthy infants who will be six to seven months of age in the interval between March 20 and May 20 to help us test a mobile robot that babies will “drive” by moving their bodies.

The robot test will take place on the Ithaca College campus, and will require from 30 minutes to 1 hour, with the infant and parent/caregiver present. A $15.00 incentive will be offered per session. Your baby will help us to develop a robot that infants with disabilities can use to explore their environment in ways that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

If you are interested in participating in this project (or if you know someone who might be), please contact Carole Dennis in the Department of Occupational Therapy at 607-274-1057, or by email at cdennis@ithaca.edu .
