Junior journalism major Libby Sile has been awarded a highly-competitive American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) internship for summer 2010. As an ASME intern, she will be placed at a prestigious magazine in either New York or Washington, D.C.

In addition, Sile has been selected as a winner of the 2010 Roy W. Howard National Collegiate Reporting Competition. The competition, established in 1984 in cooperation with the Indiana University School of Journalism, honors the memory of the journalist who led Scripps Howard Newspapers from 1922 to 1953, and United Press International from 1912 to 1920. The competition awards nine aspiring journalists a 10-day guided study tour of Japan, an area of special interest to Roy Howard.
