Ms. FRIDA BERRIGAN, peace activist, expert on nuclear, arms trade and human rights issues, will speak at IC campus WEDNESDAY MARCH 31, 4:00-5:30pm, WILLIAMS 225.

Her talk will center on the inherent dangers of nuclear fuel cycle on the health, environment and economies of all peoples, and in particular the historical impact of uranium mining and nuclear waste dumps on native communities, who bear a disproportionate burden of risk from the nuclear fuel cycle. The event is part of a 700-mile Walk for a Nuclear-Free Future from Western NY to New York City to call attention to the 2010 Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference at UN in May 2010.  This will be a good opportunity to learn and bring awareness to a topic that is not much discussed in academic, media or policy circles.
