Jack Rossen (Anthropology), Brooke Hansen (Anthropology), and Patricia Rodriguez (Politics) present at the David Nosanchuk Memorial Lecture Series at Ithaca High SchoolContributed by Denise Nuttall on 03/25/10 On March 1, Jack Rossen presented two talks "Cayuga History in Your Backyard" and "How People Got Here: The Bering Strait and Other Myths" and Brooke Hansen presented "Living in the Cayuga Homeland: Strengthening Connections With the Land and Each Other" to students and teachers at the Ithaca High school. On March 2 Patricia Rodriguez spoke about "Indigenous Land and Environmental Struggles in Chile and Latin America". The annual Nosanchuk lecture series focuses on a topic that is either controversial or not normally treated in high school curricula. This series is held to honor activist student David Nosanchuk, who died tragically the last day of his senior year. |
