Ithaca Wind Quintet Welcomes Their Penn State Counterparts for Free ConcertContributed by Erik Kibelsbeck on 04/05/10 On Thursday, April 8 at 8:15 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall, the Ithaca Wind Quintet will join forces with members of the Pennsylvania Quintet for a free concert. The Pennsylvania ensemble will be joined by pianist Enrico Elisi for the Mozart quintet for piano and winds; the Ithaca group will perform music of Paquito D'Rivera, and the two ensembles will combine for the Charles Gounod Petite Symphonie. The Ithaca Wind Quintet is made up of Weendy Herbener Mehne, flute; Paige Morgan, oboe; Michael Galvan, clarinet; Lee Goodhew Romm, bassoon; Alex Shuhan, horn. Members of the Pennsylvania Quintet from Penn State will be Tim Hurtz, oboe; Anthony J. Costa, clarinet; Lisa O. Bontrager, horn; and Daryl Durran, bassoon.
