As an opening scene, soprano Amanda DeMaris and baritone Brad Hougham will present Gian Carlo Menotti's "The Telephone." Both works will be accompanied by Brian DeMaris on the piano, with stage direction by David Lefkowich. Subtitles will be by Kristin Loughry, and costumes by Jen Caprio. "La Voix Humaine" is a monologue for soprano based on a 1930 play by Jean Cocteau. "The Telephone" tells the story of a man attempting to propose marriage but thwarted by the woman's preoccupation with telephone conversations.
