Ithaca College

As part of Incisive Analytics current assessment of the College's Business Intelligence/Decision Support function, two Business Intelligence Studios will be presented.  The first of these will be on Data Governance and the second on Business Intelligence as a Center of Excellence. 

These sessions will inform us about the best practices, specifically within higher education, for gathering, preserving, governing and effectively using the information we need to do our jobs and to manage the College.  Incisive Analytics will bring together their own personnel as well as highly regarded individuals from other colleges and universities, who have been there and done that, to share their insight with us from a user perspective.

These sessions will be extremely important in terms of helping us establish reasonable goals and expectations for our Business Intelligence function as we go forward.  The sessions will be held as follows:

Data Governance - Will address key “lessons-learned”, best practices and pitfalls to avoid around data governance, data stewardship, compliance, technology applications, and organizational acceptance.

BI Center of Excellence - This interactive experience, modeled on Bravo’s “Inside the Actors’ Studio,” brings experts in Business Intelligence specifically in Higher Education to Ithaca College to share their experiences doing BI in the field.
