HPPE Majors Win Technology in Physical Education National ContestContributed by Patricia Green on 05/03/10 Dr. Hongwei Guan, Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education (HPPE), and his students in the Teaching Fitness in Physical Education class are the Grand Prize Winners of the National Association in Physical Education and Sport/Polar USA Celebrating Technology and Innovation in PE Video Contest. The students' video showcased the use of technology in physical education, including the use of Wii Fit, TriFit System, handheld computers, and heart rate monitors. Class members Kelly Hand, Jason Zweig, Chelsea Coyle, Michelle Sperico, Alex Trocino, Tony Krahwinkel, Chris Egan, Will Matthews and Katie Lobdell, as well as Erika La Rock, graduate assistant, produced and starred in the video.
