Patricia Rodriguez, Assistant Professor Politics, participated in a workshop on Environment and Citizenship in Latin America, at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada on April 23-24, 2010.

The workshop centered on the social, cultural, and political logics that lead actors in Latin American societies to identify with the language of citizenship as they mobilize around environmental questions. Prof. Rodriguez presented her coauthored work titled “Mapuche Protests and Environmental Citizenship in Post-authoritarian Chile.”

She also presented another co-authored paper on “National and Transnational Struggles for Human Rights in Colombia” at the Latin American Studies Program Seminar Series at Cornell University on May 3, 2010.
