NewsWatch 16 Wins National Award from Society of Professional JournalistsContributed by Melissa Gattine on 05/06/10
"NewsWatch 16" recently won the “Best Newscast” award in SPJ’s Regional 1 competition. Each regional winner advances to the national competition. National Mark of Excellence Award judges choose one national winner in each category and two national finalists (runners-up). The crew that worked on the broadcast taped during the Fall 2009 semester include: Seth Palmer '10, news director; Ben Nasta ’10, producer; and anchors Matt Wright ‘10 and Kirsten Quinn ’12. "NewsWatch16" will be officially recognized October 4, 2010 at the Mark of Excellence Awards Luncheon, which occurs during the 2010 SPJ Convention & National Journalism Conference in Las Vegas.
