“Clave – The Key: A Rhythmic Journey from Africa to the New World”; Monday, September 20, 2010, 8:15 p.m.; performance by Bobby Sanabria in Hockett Family Recital Hall, Whalen Center for Music. Opening reception before the performance from 7-8:00 p.m. in McHenry Lobby, 4th floor, Whalen Center for Music.

"Talking Race: Ending Racism"; Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 7:00 p.m.; talk by bell hooks in Textor 102, Textor Hall; Light refreshments will be served.

"Who We Are & Why We Do What We Do"; Monday, November 8, 2010 7:00 p.m.; CSCRE Open House in Clark Lounge, Egbert Hall; Light refreshments will be served.

All Discussion Series Events are free and open to the public.

It's incredibly exciting to many of us that bell hooks will be on campus to discuss issues of race, racism, and anti-racism. Thank you!! I do suggest, if possible, moving that event to a larger space, though, as there will be substantial interest.
