Effective May 2011, Business Reply Mail and Courtesy Reply Mail will be required to utilize the intelligent bar code.

It must be used on all Business Reply Mail, Courtesy Reply Mail and all Bulk mailings utilizing an automated discount instead of the postnet barcode currently used. New Business Reply Mail and Courtesy Reply Mail piece designs will need to be created that incorporate the Intelligent Mail Barcode. 

It is important to deplete current supplies. 

New order requests will be processed and filled with the intelligent barcode format.

In March 2011, it will be important to order the new format if your current supplies have not been depleted in preparation for the change and to allow time for processing order requests.
