Dr. Palmer was first and foremost a friend, a fellow from a generation gone, someone I truly could share a thought and a laugh with. He was part of a time in our post war society with whom it was still possible to connect with, free of dogmatic views, in the most simple human manner. To me, he was the essence of being intellectual without pomp or pretense. I miss that of him.
