We are sorry to report that one of the fledglings has passed away. The vet school picked up the hawk from IC early Wednesday morning. It is believed to have been zapped by an electrical wire, which is a common danger for hawks. They will know more about the cause of death after they do a necropsy. On a brighter note, the remaining fledgling is alive and well, and growing bigger and stronger with each passing day (as you can see from the photo). |
