Rebecca Jemian, Associate Professor of Music Theory, has just completed a 10-day stint reading the 2010 AP Music Theory exam in Cincinnati.

This marks the second year that Jemian has served as a Table Leader in one of the two Sight Singing rooms, training other readers to evaluate cassette tapes and CDs submitted by students across the nation.  Each student had 75 seconds to study and practice a melody, without external help (such as a piano), before recording the melody.  This year, nearly 17,000 high school students took the music theory exam.  The nine Free Response questions were graded by 125 high school and college music theory teachers from across the U.S.

Heather Laurel, VAP of Music Theory at IC in 2009-2010, also participated in the reading.
