Designing a course that will be offered fully online for students who are doing distance learning? ITS encourages you to attend a special new workshop in the TLC (room 101 Friends Hall) on Monday afternoon from 1pm to 3pm called "Blackboard: Building Online Courses." Blackboard: Building Online Courses

This training offers instructors an introduction to using Blackboard, Ithaca College's central course management system. Using a practice course for hands-on learning, participants will acquire the fundamental skills needed to build and manage courses in Blackboard, such as:

• issues to consider when delivering courses online, such as using tools that increase student interaction
• activating your course and publishing your syllabus
• navigating within the Build, Teach, and Student views
• adding, using, and removing course management tools
• creating, uploading, and organizing course content
• using communication tools (announcements, discussion boards)

ITS offers computing workshops every week on a variety of topics in the Technology Learning Center (101 Friends Hall) at no charge to all faculty, staff, and students.
