It is Time Again for a Weight Watchers at Work Open House!Contributed by Christine Haase on 08/06/10
Where: HR Training Room, GL052 Peggy R. Williams Center Time: 11:15 – 12:00 p.m. or 12:15 – 1:00 p.m. Why: Sit in on an actual meeting, meet our leader, and possibly join! Attending the Open House is the perfect time to meet our leader, Samarra (She’s terrific!), and see for yourself how Weight Watchers can help you reach your goals. And what could be more convenient than meeting here on campus? The Open House on the 10th is the last week of our current 17-week session and anyone who is interested is welcome to attend. While prepaid registrations will be accepted, there is absolutely no obligation to join. Please note that new and returning members will not weigh in at this particular meeting – that will occur the following week on Tuesday, August 17th, when we start Series 5. Registration and program information can be found on HR's Work/Life webpage. Please scroll to the bottom of the page to select your choice of meeting time. Then bring your payment with you to the Open House on the 10th to officially reserve your spot. Those joining for the first time or returning to the At Work group will also need to complete a WW Registration Card. (Currently enrolled members already have one on file.) The sooner we get the paperwork and housekeeping out of the way, the more time our leader, Samarra, will have to devote to the program on the 17th. Our group has dropped a total of 387 pounds over the past 17 weeks; we have dropped an incredible 2088 pounds since April 2009. Here is another exciting statistic: So far, 7 Lifetime members have actively signed up for the next weekly series even though they are required to weigh in only once a month to maintain their official connection to the program. This is a true testament to (1) the commitment they have made to themselves and (2) to the effectiveness and importance of this program. Their participation is priceless. All staff, faculty, and students are welcome to join Weight Watchers at Work at Ithaca College. Weight Watchers is the best program for not only losing weight, but for learning how to keep it off by making healthier choices. There is a Chinese proverb that says, “It takes a lot of time to achieve instant success”. If you work the program, it will ultimately work for you! Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Christine Haase at haase@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
