 Will Crisp is Moving On

Contributed by Terry Ruger on 08/13/10

We wish to share that after 14 years of outstanding and dedicated service Will Crisp is moving on to a new career. Over the next year Will is enrolled in a three semester program at Mohawk Valley Community College to obtain an Airframe and Powerplant certification as he pursues a new career working on helicopters.

Will first joined Ithaca College as a Network Services Technician in 1996 and in 2001 moved over to take on a new position in ITS supporting AV technology in the classroom. Since that point in time Will has been instrumental with organizing, planning, and implementing the enhanced AV technology for the campus from a handful of eClassrooms to the 180+ eClassrooms and meeting spaces we have today. Will has spent countless hours with end users, architects, and contractors to assure the enhanced AV technology associated with campus renovations and new construction projects were properly designed and implemented. Will played a major role in the development of our Classroom Technology Support group for assuring these eClassroom spaces were supported and maintained in a timely manner.

Please join us with wishing Will the best of luck with his future endeavors at a reception in Job Hall Room 312 on Tuesday, August 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Will's last day will be Monday, August 30.

Greetings to all,

Ithaca College has been my favorite place of employment for over fourteen years because of each and every one of YOU. I've never worked for any employer this long or with a finer group of people. It has been a pleasure serving you!

I feel accomplished at my job, feel as though I've reached the zenith of my career here, and I am ready for a new adventure. Hopefully, you'll find I've helped build a good foundation for those following in my footsteps.

I've always had a passion for rotor craft. That is why I have chosen to pursue a career with helicopters by attending the Airframe & Powerplant Certification Program in Rome, New York. I hope to gain employment with Schweizer, a Sikorsky subsidiary in Horseheads, after I graduate from the A&P program next August. So, I won't be that far away.

Behind every successful man is a good woman and a big THANK YOU goes out to my sweetheart, Laurie. I could not accomplish this move without her support. She stands behind me and my dreams 100%.

Leaving Ithaca College is bittersweet, but there will always be a warm place in my heart for the fine friends I've made here! Thank you for the good wishes! I will miss you all!

Your friend with his head in the clouds,

Will

Will, you have been such an asset to the college. Lucky folks at Sikorsky to have
someone with your talents coming to work for them. Best of luck to a great
person, colleague and friend. We'll miss you in more ways than just as a
technician.
