Come sign up for a time to audition for Ithaca's award-winning all-male a cappella ensemble!!!
The time has come once again for Ithaca's finest to assemble. Our time has come. Prepare your most stupifying riffs, get ready to rock out, and warm up those pipes because Ithacappella, Ithaca College's only all-male a cappella ensemble, is ready and waiting to hear what you've got!
Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 28th from 9 am until 3 pm in Presser Hall in the Whalen Center for Music. To sign up for a time slot, please pay a visit to our table in the Campus Center Lobby from Wednesday August 25th to Friday August 27th. Time slots go quickly..so get yours while they're still...hot?
For auditions, please prepare two solos of contrasting styles (fast/slow, happy/sad, upbeat/ballad, hot/cold, up/down, rock/pop, Lady Gaga/Frank Sinatra...you get the picture). Please try and select a verse and a chorus (about one minute) of each song to prepare for the esteemed panel of highly qualified and dangerously attractive board members.
You will be auditioning for President Austin Kiley, Vice President/Representative for the Haus of Gaga Jimmy Knowles, Conductor Dave Grossman, Assistant Conductor Chris Miranda, and Administrative Assistant Johnny Rabe. Feel free to seek any of us out if you have any questions on the process, the group, or just want to chat it up. Most of them could use all the friends they can get. Except for Jimmy. He has way too many already.
In addition to your two solo pieces, please feel free to bring to the table anything else you feel could wow us! Can you rap? We wanna hear it. Do you arrange? Let us see something you have arranged. Do you think you can out-riff Jimmy? Highly unlikely...but worth a shot!
Callbacks will be held later that evening and our first rehearsal is the next day, so you will want to be sure to block off that whole weekend for some fun filled acatasticness!!
