Attention all Ithaca College Employees:

Ithaca College is partnering with WestLake Financial Group, Inc. to conduct a Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit of our medical insurance plans. A letter providing more information about the audit and who it applies to will be sent to each Ithaca College employee next week. Please note: this letter is being sent to all employees regardless of enrollment in the College’s medical plans and not all recipients will need to take action.

As we are all aware, health care costs are continually on the rise; currently the average cost for family medical coverage at the College exceeds $15,000 per year. At Ithaca College we know how important healthcare is and we remain committed to providing access to quality and affordable coverage for employees and their eligible dependents. Not only will conducting this audit help better manage the cost of health insurance, it allows the College to comply with legal mandates that require us to manage plans for the exclusive benefit of eligible participants and beneficiaries.

During the audit period, any employee covering dependents on one of IC’s medical plans will be required to submit proof of eligibility for each covered member. If you are not covering dependents on one of the plans, no action will be required.

If you are required to take action in accordance with the audit, you will be notified via letter in the next couple of weeks. The letter will provide you with information on the necessary documentation to support the eligibility of your dependent(s). If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact WestLake’s Dependent Verification Center for Ithaca College Monday through Friday, from 7AM to 7PM CST, at 888-823-2004.

**Because employees share the cost of insurance with Ithaca College, we hope you understand our concern and support our efforts to keep our benefits comprehensive and affordable now and in the future.**
