On Thursday. September 16, political cartoonist Tom Tomorrow will offer a visual presentation in Emerson Suites at 7:30 pm. Tom Tomorrow is the pen name of Dan Perkins – one of the most successful cartoonists in independent media. His award-winning weekly strip, “This Modern World,” skewers the powerful in media and politics; it appears in dozens of alternative weeklies nationwide, including the Ithaca Times.

He has published eight cartoon anthologies and a picture book for children. He is also a blogger and animator – and did the much-praised cover art for Pearl Jam’s 2009 “Backspacer” album. “Tom Tomorrow is the wry voice of American common sense, humor and decency,” declared Kurt Vonnegut. The event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Park Center for Independent Media.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Brandy Hawley at (607) 274-3590 or bhawley@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
