Get involved in Ithaca! The Labor Day Picnic, put on by the Tompkins County Workers’ Center is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the local community. Please join the Tompkins County Workers' Center and the Midstate Central Labor Council for what is turning out to be a rockin' Labor Day Picnic! The Labor Day Picnic will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Monday, September 6th, in Ithaca's Stewart Park. Special musical guests this year include Ithaca's own hip-hop Gunpoets featuring their newest and excellent release, 9-5, in honor of Labor Day.
IC students interested in labor issues should contact the Workers' Center at TCWRC@yahoo.com or 607-269-0409 or via our website, www.TCWorkersCenter.org There is also an opportunity to be part of ITHACA COLLEGE LABOR ACTIVISTS, a new student group on campus that focuses on labor issues within the Ithaca community and nationally. If you have an interest in Immigration Policy, Free Trade Agreements, Industrial Labor, Child Labor, Fair Trade, Unions, community organizing or a combination of a few of these things, then ICLA is the group for you. If you want to be involved in making change in labor conditions in Ithaca then join Ithaca College Labor Activists. Send a quick email to Kiera Lewis at klewis3@ithaca.edu to show your interest.
Thanks, and we hope to see you on Labor Day!
