Dr. Cullen's presentation will take place this Wednesday, Sept. 15, with sessions starting 7p.m and 9 p.m. in Emerson Suites. This presentation is open and free to the public. All first-year students and new transfer students are required to attend this workshop. Students should attend either the 7 p.m. or 9 p.m. presentation. The workshop is offered twice to accommodate student schedules and facilitate 100% participation by first-year and new transfer students. Students' Resident Assistants should inform them of the time period assigned to their residence hall. This presentation is a First-Year Experience event, giving first-year students the opportunity to register for the chance to win an Apple® iPad at the end of the semester! I guess I'm a bit surprised to see this as a "required" event for all first-year and transfer students. If it is part of a class, I understand, but when did we start "requiring" students to attend extra- or co-curricular lectures? And what other "required" presentations are all entering students required to attend?
