CouldYou? is an organization led by Christine Garde and designed to help individuals, scholars, entrepreneurs and investors find their own unique contributions to impact poverty in from an African-led perspective. Investors and researchers toured southern Africa, meeting with leaders in agriculture, journalism, health and human services, childcare, planning, development, finance and wildlife preservation throughout southern Africa. Michelle’s experiences included: singing to children at a school and orphanage in Matola Rio, Maputo, meeting with a village chief to analyze problems with inadequate food and water supplies in Gubane, Mozambique, visiting a dump where children and families reside, interviewing women leading the micro lending movement with AfricaWorks, examining successful irrigation projects along the Limpopo River, delivering the first free newspaper to Mozambicans without Internet access, networking with the award-winning South African philanthropist and humanitarian Tracey Webster and participating in private game safaris along the banks of the Nhlaralumi River in the heart of South Africa’s world famous Kruger National Park.
