At our First-Year Reading Initiative event this year, on Tuesday, August 24th, featuring discussion of our FYRI featured book, Walden, by Henry David Thoreau, we issued a ticket to every first-year student who attended. Not only did this enable us to determine approximately how many first-year students attended -- resulting in the best attendance record we have on file!! -- but it also entered them into our drawing of two possible prizes! We're happy to announce that Christopher McCloskey was our winner of a $100 ID Express Card and Christina Clewley was our winner of a $50 ID Express Card! Congratulations to them both and congratulations to all of the first-year students who came out to the FYRI event! It was an overall success with the help of many! |
