Violinist Nicholas DiEugenio and Pianist Nathan Hess, Assistant Professors in the School of Music, presented a recital on September 17 as guest artists at Penn State University. Their program, “Bird As Prophet,” commemorated the 200th anniversary of Robert Schumann’s birth by featuring interconnected musical works of Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and the living American composer Martin Bresnick. In addition to the recital, Hess and DiEugenio each presented a masterclass to piano and violin majors and Penn State.
