Scott Stull of the Department of Anthropology will present a lecture this Wednesday evening, September 29, entitled "The Rise and Fall of the Medieval House."  The presentation will be held from 5-6:30 pm in the Six Mile Creek Room in the Ithaca College Campus Center.

Stull's lecture reads the English house as a specifically social space, and traces its evolution across two centuries.  In the fourteenth century, English houses from peasants to royalty followed a remarkably similar arrangement. By the sixteenth century, that arrangement had nearly vanished. This presentation will explore the form of the English medieval house in terms of social organization, and discuss why the post- or late medieval house is so very different is some ways and little changed in others.

All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
