Congratulations to Sofia Johnson '12  who was recently accepted to Sodexo's Student Board of Directors!

The Student Board of Directors drive the promotions that come to college campuses.  Each semester the SBOD meets at a different college from around the USA and holds the SBOD Summit that includes the Student Choice Trends Expo.

Over fall break Sofia will be traveling to Muhlenburg College to see their new dining facility as she attends her first face-to-face meeting with the other members from across the nation. She will take part in the student choice awards. From this taste sampling event, new recipes and menu items are infused into the CustoMenu keeping the offer fresh as well as on trend.

The rest of the SBOD Summit she will use her co-chair position on the Green Team to work to improve campus sustainability. Through outreach, education, collaboration with other Student Sustainability Coordinators, and new initiatives she hopes to "drive change toward using best practices and reducing waste in the colleges Sodexo operates in- over 500!"

In addition, Sofia is also a Sustainability Intern for Ithaca Dining Services and has been for the past two years.
